Unique Toys enters the pocket scale section of the 3rd party Transfomers.

And it is glorious.

Tiny head masters of the Palm Collection Tom & Jerry (Weirdwolf and Chromedome respectively)

Complete with storable guns, pilotable beast and vehicles. They even have a feature that references the original toys of old's headmaster power level gimmick. Here's just a panel with sculpted detail.

Both have waist swivel, ball socket hips and shoulders, knees. While Chromedome has a bicep swivel and elbow bend Weirdwolf just has a ball socket.

The only downsides are no head articulation and Chromedome's car mode is slightly poos in proportion (dat bot mode though).

They have Skullcruncher & Hardhead up next (shown as early grey prototypes a couple of weeks ago).

When Boss Fight Studios uses a slogan like the following:

They're not kidding.

So when I fool around with some bits and pieces originally intended to use on some Marvel Universe figures and slap them on a H.A.C.K.S a light bulb goes off (hooray).

One thing lead to another and once I got my kickstarter goodies in I gave myself a moratorium on properly customizing the figures I had (like new LEGO sets as a child would remain intact till they would be mixed up for the greater build). That time is over.

I give you the Hob-Goblin

Super easy build, the hardest part would be painting the head to match the blank's colour, or near enough to satisfy my eye in hand.

He's made from the following:

Body, Arms, legs & Feet: Sunny Wheat male blank
Hands: Tree Bark Brown Blank
Head: Cast from Starwarsgeek (he's really good) from a couple of years ago
Accessories: RoC Viper Commando Vest trimmed, a Bridge Direct Hobbit Finbal the orc waist piece. A pair of H.A.C.K.S Black accessories Shin Guards. A Pair of Blank glove pieces from Marvel Universe. His under armor mail piece came from a Army of Darkness Deadite.
Weapons & Shield: One mace thing from the same Bridge Direct Hobbit line orc, a sword from the Army of Darkness line and the shield is from a 1/18 fantasy figurine line by Blue Box Toys I think.

It's all removable and he only gets sexier if you take it off...

Oh I also gave him the Red Accessories Gorgon Helm minus the spine so it can sit on his head snugly. Now he's the Hob-est of them all.

I'm super happy how this turned out, naturally he needs friends to go raiding with, so I hope to make more. All that's left is to give him some straps and a place to store his weapons, but I'll update that when the Hockey Tape I've ordered from the UK arrives.

 Happy trails.

Time for more Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S.

Now I wasn't an all in kickstarter backer, I had to take into account my funds and the dreaded import tax limit that all in would have given me another $100NZD at least on top of the all in.

So alas I could not get one of everything. Instead I opted for the 1st wave, an Amazon, some blanks and armor sets... and SKELETONS.

They also gave everyone a free pink Skeleton and for international backers who opted to wait for one shipment instead of in parts you got to choose a free figure. So the Athenian Warrior the choice. Paint apps on point, articulation all present and correct. Gorgon Tails a fantastic feat of engineering and everyone should at least have one.

What can I say, they turned out wonderfully. I wish I could have gone for more at the time, but eh that's what pre-orders at their shop are for.

Now for the Skeleton, I find him way better than the old Deadites from the Army of Darkness toyline, not as robust as the Pose Skeleton but way more durable than the Larger Revoltech Skeleton. The sculpt is unreal. They got it all in their at 4inches and he's smaller than the Male and Female since he's a skeleton that would normal be inside a body.

I'm gonna need more skeletons.

Now their blank System is what is behind everything, sort of like the old Microman Material force blanks of old, they come in a variety of flavors for which you can use for anything you can think of. They also have some sets of Armor and weapons, that come in one solid color for you do with as you wish. Boss Fight Studios plans to keep the blanks in constant circulation while adding sets as the series theme change (bring on the fantasy and sci-fi gear).

Each blank comes with 2 sets of hands (each pair a different tilt axis like the regular figures) 3 sets of feet (booted, sandals and bare foot) and 4 heads (bald, short hair, super hero mask and a 2nd head of hair, with the female having a ponytail piece that is removable and pose-able). All cast in whatever the blank figure is allowing for some good base color configs before you even touch a paint brush.

Head swaps with other figures form other toylines will take some surgery, below are just held on temporary with blu-tac.

Here are some finished and

Now you aren't limited to the Greek or future Fantasy and Retro-Sci-fi themes. The 1st stop is obviously Super Heroes... or you can make a wetsuit:

... or Quiet from MGS V: The Phantom Pain!

Even the skeletons can get in on the action, like here in Marauder Task force gear:

Speaking of Skeletons again, here are my 4 white ones given various paint washes... THE WORKS etc. What more could I ask for?

Total satisfaction, I'm now a customer for life, now I just got to budget myself sensibly. The only thing I can think of that could do with some attention is the shields. Now they're beautifully made and whatnot, just that the piece on the inside that's part of the handle and frame is made from a material that is thick and a bit heavy for the female and skeletons to hold for most periods of time. It'll also hamper the male figure's balance (bipeds am-i-rite). Which is a shame because the way it clasps onto the fore arm is rather genius, but better suited to 6inch figures or above.

I hope you enjoyed this and you enjoy your H.A.C.K.S.

Custom Update: G.I Joe all day, everyday

Time for a short update and to show you some customs. Nothing fancy as I'm still aiming for custom figures that require as little work as possible (more usability and less paint rub too). Let's get going.

Captain Claymore was a lot of fun to make, using the convention figure's head, helmet, vest, backpack and weapons (the figure was too stumpy for me) I transplanted them onto the parts, swapped out the feet with Marauder Falcon's and painted the kneepads while colour matching the upper boots and lower torso's pants. Alas he doesn't have the banana Giraffe camo pattern, but I chose not to do that.

Stalker here is just the head from last year's convention figure witha  Marauder beret made to fit the neck of the excellent 30th figure (not that I didn't like the dreads, but the new head IS Lonzo Wilkinson).

Airborne is another attempt salvaging the lower legs from the previous custom I had painted all over. If I could get a cast of the Shocktrooper/Steel Brigade vest in a light blue/grey I'd use that to give him a greater classical feel. Still, I am happy with the results and the elastic leg straps glued to the belt.

Finally we come to my Classic Duke in progress, he's almost complete. I just need a US Flag decal for his right shoulder and a Marauder Helmet.

I'm rather pleased at how this has turned out so far. A good use of parts I had laying around.

Please leave any advice and feedback, it's always welcome.

Something special has arrived... the Kokomo Toys Amazon Elite Warrior from Boss Fight Studios. And let me tell you, she is something special.

This might be the greatest female action figure in 1/18 and 4inch size to date and it's going to be hard not to gush about this figure. We can start by feeding this kitten.

Now, she comes with a few things, 2 sets of hands, 2 helmets, one long spear, 2 axes, a long bladed sword, a shield and a Boss Fight stand.

One of the nicest things about these figures is the double ball jointed neck, one into the skull the other into the neck, allows for some excellent posture and it's quite emotive for a 4 inch figure. The other is that the figure is designed to be taken apart with ease, but not at the expense of any structural integrity. And the body is extremely posable all over. They might not have the full articulation a Microman from the early to mid 2000s, but man are way more sturdy with some supreme quality control.

Now her armor is complete removable, her bracers fit snugly on the wrists, just pop the wrists out and viola, bare arms.

Same with the shin guards, even with the female Boss Fight body having the foot articulation as ankle rockers, just pop the foot off and get that off. Like the Arm braces is't snug and needs some gentle care, but don't worry the armor is all this nice soft plastic that has a lot of give.

Next the Chest armor, secured by two tabs that wrap around from the front into the back.

Makes for a solid and secure fitting when on the figure, ready for battle.

Lewd, now for the skirt, you just pop the figure apart at the torso joint just above the abdomen and below the chest. It's a really well designed ball socket clip, they really knew what they were doing when creating these figure's construction.

And now we have a nude action figure (well she's got painted underwear on the bottom, the blank figures will not).

Size comparison with some recent Marvel universe (or whatever they're calling it now) and the SDCC Jinx who I think was sculpted by one of the Boss Fight crew.

Honestly the pictures of the figure tell you more than I can via the medium of type on a blog.

OH... my

And there you have it, a brief and amateur rundown of the Amazon Elite Warrior from the  VITRUVIAN H.A.C.K.S line, I hope you have one in hand or on the way. You won't be disappointed. I need to go pre-order some more.
